About Camp Keystone

  1. What time does camp begin in the morning and end each day?

Campers can be dropped off as early as 9:15(earlier drop-offs will be charged for extended day) and the camp day starts at 9:30 a.m. Camp ends at 3:20pm and pick up in the afternoon is at 3:30. Those campers on the bus transportation routes will be picked up for camp between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and then dropped off after camp between 3:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

  1. Do you offer Child Care before or after regular camp hours?

We offer both morning and afternoon Extended Care. A.M. Extended Care hours are 7:30-9:15 and P.M. hours are 3:30-5:30. There is an additional fee for this service of $12/extention ($24/day if using both AM and PM care).

  1. What is the ratio of staff to campers?

This is a good question, but it is the wrong question to ask! You should ask about group size and how many counselors each group has. The ratio changes throughout the camp day (i.e.: At arts and crafts and go-carts there are 2 area specialists as well as your campers’ regular group counselors).

  1. How many children are in a group? How are campers grouped?

In Day Camp, there are 12-16 children per group. The campers are grouped according to gender & age/grade. In Junior Camp, there are 8-12 children per group. The campers are grouped co-educationally, in groups of the same age.

  1. What are the activities your camp offers?

Camp Keystone offers over 40 different activities which include swimming each day, arts & crafts, nature exploration, boating, fishing, horseback riding, go-carts, karate, slot cars, archery, zip lines, alpine slide, gemstone mining, rock wall, giant interactive inflatables, various sports and water activities, and other specialized Camp Keystone activities. All activities are experienced by all ages, with the Junior Camper’s activities geared to their age groups.

  1. What are the dates of camp sessions?

June 14 - August 25, 2017 - 11 weeks in total. Our flexible scheduling allows for campers to be scheduled for any or all of the 11 weeks, for 2, 3, 4 or 5 days. The only restriction is a two day schedule must be Tues/Thurs.

  1. Do you provide swimming instructions for my child?

Yes, we provide swimming lessons for your camper(s) either before or after the camp day. Please refer to Keystone Swim School on our website for more information.

  1. Can my child be placed in the same group as their friend(s)?

Yes. On the application you can request whom you would like to be placed in your child’s group, provided that they are the same age. We will do everything possible to see that your request is met, however, we cannot guarantee it.

  1. When do I need to pay my tuition by?

Full payment is required by June 1st. If not received before then, enrollment will be cancelled. Earlier payment in full is due for discounted rates. Please refer to tuition schedules for discount deadlines.

  1. What do you do in the case of an emergency/fire?

If an emergency occurs requiring an evacuation, all campers will be escorted to vehicles and driven to our planned evacuation sites. (Evacuation sites listed in Parent and Camper Handbook)

  1. Do you offer a hot lunch program?

Each day, freshly prepared lunches are available to all campers and staff for an additional fee. Lunch can be purchased on a daily basis for $7, or pre-paid prior to camp. See Lunch Schedule for planned menu.

  1. Will the counselors help apply sunscreen on my child during the day?

Yes! You just need to send a bottle of sunscreen (clearly marked with your child’s name) in their back- pack and his/her counselor will help them apply it.

  1. Do you offer a sibling discount?

Yes. The second and subsequent children receive a 5% discount on their camp tuition.

  1. If I utilize your transportation program for all of my children, do I have to pay for each one individually?

Yes. Each child will be charged the transportation fee, which is included in the registration. There is however, a discounted rate for those who provide their own transportation.

  1. Are you opened July 4th?

No. If July 4th falls on a day during the week, it will not be an available choice to schedule.
