Special Shout Out to Quicksilver

Quicksilver deserves a special shout out for today's group dress up day at Camp Keystone. Today the groups dressed up in a theme as a way to promote group unity.  There were groups dressed in sports jerseys, pink groups, blue groups and camo groups. But Quicksilver went to a party store last night and bought these silly green fuzzy hats for his group. Thanks to all the groups for their efforts but Quicksilver definitely deserves a shout out for this one!

A Great Moment at Camp Keystone

As the Grand Pooh Bah I have a lot of responsibilities in running Camp Keystone and one of them is taking pictures throughout the summer. I'm an avid photographer and seeing the camp through a lens lets me see things that are often missed and go unnoticed by most everyone. This blog is going to allow me to share with you some of those special moments at Camp Keystone. Here is one of the special moments. It's the first day of the summer for this camper and she's obviously upset and scared but her counselor lets her know everything is going to be ok by giving her a really heartfelt hug.

Here Come Our Buses

Camp Keystone has switched this year to traditional yellow school buses and it's working out great. All the buses have seat belts, professional school bus drivers, Camp Keystone bus supervisors and are fully air-conditioned. Beyond all the obvious benefits of these buses we've also seen a increase in "bus" spirit. With more campers on the bus there's more singing and more fun!

Next Week Is Wacky Week at Camp Keystone

After our successful first week at Camp Keystone the staff and directors are getting ready for new week.  Our enrollment really jumps this week and all our great activities are in full swing.  Wacky Week if full of dress-up days and silly games and contests at lunch time.  Be sure to check the blog daily for pictures as I'll be posting them throughout the week.

Crazy Hat Day Today at Camp Keystone!

It's been a warm first week at Camp Keystone and it's a good thing we had CRAZY HAT DAY today. The hats looked cool and they kept us cool today.  Check out a few of the finalist today at Camp Keystone.

Pics of our Ropes Course Training

This past weekend we also had our high and ropes course training. Many of our staff are already familiar with the safe operations of a high challenge course but it's necessary to review yearly.

Counselors 2008!

Last weekend the directors, returning staff and new staff got together and went through an extensive in-service training to get ready for summer 2008. The theme of the training was ROCK IT! This summer you will see the counselors proudly wearing their Rock It pins. Be sure to ask the couselors the meaning of the pin.

Check out the our NEW Ropes Course

Our new high and low ropes course is simply fantastic. The course has a series of low and high elements that will thrill challenge everyone.

Crombie Tries a new weight gain diet

"Please Don't Eat Me Crombie!" It's hard to believe that this young handsome Camp Director is worried about his weight but he is. Recently he was spotted getting ready to eat a crawdad at Camp Keystone in Southern California.
